The Broad Street Market is for everyone.
A community asset managed by the community.
Broad Street Market Alliance
Although the City of Harrisburg owns the physical structures and land the Market's buildings are on, the day-to-day operations, including facility maintenance, vendor relations, and financial management, are overseen by a private non-profit 501(c)(3) called the Broad Street Market Alliance.

Board of Directors
The Alliance's bylaws establish a governing board comprised of up to nineteen individuals: twelve at-large members (one of whom must be a vendor) elected by the board at large, two additional vendor representatives elected by vendors themselves, one representative elected by Friends of the Market, two members appointed by Harrisburg City Council, and two members appointed by the Harrisburg Mayor (the Community Development Director or equivalent position and the City Engineer or Public Works Director).

Board members are volunteers who serve three-year terms and are not compensated for their participation on the board.

Budget & Finance
As a community-managed asset, the Broad Street Market is committed to transparency and chose in 2024 to open up our books to the public in order to hold us accountable to our promised financial stewardship. We publicly post every financial transaction in a consolidated format on a monthly basis so you can see what money we brought in, how much money we spent, and exactly what we spent it on.

Financial Overview (last updated: June 2025)
The BSMA remains committed to transparency in all facets, from financial to organizational processes.
The below format of financial statements will no longer be produced by the board. We simply do not have the bandwidth to produce additional reporting at the moment.
That does not mean the transparency will stop.
We will continue to provide financial statements, reports and statements of activity as part of our normal board meeting artifacts that are shared above. Please reach out with any questions. If you'd like to volunteer to help prepare reports or analysis then please also reach out! - Paul Gellerman, Chair, 10 February 2026
