Broad Street Market to Celebrate Grand Reopening of Elementary Coffee Co.

Harrisburg, PA -- The Broad Street Market Alliance (“Market”) announced today that Elementary Coffee Co. will hold its grand reopening inside the Market’s Stone Building on Saturday, June 7. Elementary Coffee Co. will be offering free freshly-grilled Stroopies and baked goods by Baked By Bryn, and 10% of Saturday’s sales of coffee and tea will be donated back to the Broad Street Market Alliance in support of the journey it’s been on and its bright future.

Harrisburg-based Elementary Coffee Co. originally opened in the Broad Street Market in 2014 and has since grown into its own brick-and-mortar shop on North Street. The original Broad Street Market operation was displaced by the Brick Building fire in 2023. The Market approved Elementary Coffee Co.’s vendor application earlier this year, and Elementary Coffee Co. has completed its buildout process and is ready to serve its freshly roasted, honestly crafted beans to Market patrons once again.

“Elementary Coffee Co. is beyond excited to be part of the historic Broad Street Market once again! We have always considered the Market, our fellow vendors, and our lively patrons to be our home. We are so happy to bring our business ‘home’ once again with a fresh twist on our original stand. Longtime supporters will recognize nostalgic items from before the Market fire, while being enamored by a beautiful new design alongside fresh new equipment: the goal being to streamline our drink-making for a more efficient espresso bar,” said Andrea Grove, owner of Elementary Coffee Co. “We cannot wait to celebrate the old and the new with you in the coming years as we whip up the unique coffees that have caffeinated our community for the past 10 years. We are so happy to be back!"

“We are thrilled to have long-time favorite, Elementary Coffee Co., back at the Broad Street Market,” said Eric Hagarty, Chair of the Market. “With coffee once again available in the Stone Building, the community will have even more great options to choose from when visiting the Broad Street Market.”

The Broad Street Market, founded in 1860, is the oldest continuously-operated market house in the United States. It serves as the long-time anchor of retail activity in Harrisburg’s Midtown business corridor, with dozens of vendors providing locally-grown and organic produce, meats, baked goods, freshly-prepared meals, and more.

Despite the fire that damaged the Brick Building in 2023, the Stone Building remains open for business Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM; the Tent is open Thursdays and Fridays from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Saturdays from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
